GPS TRACKING CENTRE was recently asked to provided a solution for a Cargo Trailer that does not have a battery / power source.
The customer also wanted to have the ability to monitor the two doors of the trailer.
Challenge accepted and Solution provided:
– Customer has installed Solar panels on the roof of the cargo trailer and placed a back up battery inside ( charged by the panels).
– The roof is metal so placing a GPS TRACKER inside the trailer is not a GREAT idea but the LMU-330H can be mounted outside and is very weather resistant.
– The doors? Door contacts wired in series to a hidden on/off toggle switch- all set on a delay algorithm through the GPS TRACKER. A siren was also added because.. well.. because we could (also with a special set of instructions from the platform).
Now the customer has a full SECURITY and TRACKING SYSTEM all generated through solar panels and our LMU-330H GPS Tracker.
At first, the customer thought this special request was either NOT POSSIBLE or would be expensive to design and implement. The truth of the matter is, after he had his own Technician install the panels, our part was really not that difficult.
1- LMU- 330H GPS TRACKING UNIT – less than $170.00
2- Door contacts (not your everyday contacts but less than $40.00 each)
1- Toggle switch (less than $20.00)
Add some 16 gauge wire- figure out the wiring pattern – create a delay algorithm for the doors via GPS and install.
Tracking plan package ( we modified that too) – Less than 10.00 per month

Another solution, if the Cargo Trailer, or any other trailer, was tethered long enough, we could have installed a TTU-1230. This unit has an extended battery that, when fully charged, can provide what you need for several months. – It all depends on what you need?
